The history of Mas des Restanques began in 1995 with the union of our two family lands. After several years in a cooperative cellar, we have took the plunge, created our cellar and released our 1st vintage in 2007. In 2009, we are orienting the domain towards a culture Organic and in 2012 our wine is certified by "Ecocert". In 2019, our son Philippe joined us on the estate in order to perpetuate the tradition while bringing new stone to the building. In the first place, we put all our efforts in the vine cultivation in order to offer consumers the best grape nectar. Then, the low yields on clay soils limestone, thoughtful work of the harvest and the development of our wines, bring to our cuvées character, strength and balance.

Our Domain
The history of Mas des Restanques began in 1995, with the union of our two family terroirs. In the heart of Provence and at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail, our estate is spread over 12 ha, between two prestigious appellations: Vacqueyras and Gigondas.
In 2007, we took the plunge and created our own cellar. Our first vintage came out the same year.
Our grapes are picked beforehand, and sorted directly on the plot by our pickers.
After managing the vineyard in sustainable cultivation and working the soil mostly mechanically, our estate is now adopting a new approach by moving towards organic farming. In 2012, our wines are certified organic by ECOCERT
* Restanque is the Frenchization of Provençal restanco, a term used in Basse Provence and literally designating a dry stone retaining wall built into the bed an intermittent torrent to create a cultivation terrace.
Our Region
Our appellations are made up of 2 neighboring villages: Gigondas and Vacqueyras and are located in the
department of Vaucluse, between Carpentras to the south and Vaison la Romaine to the north.
Gigondas and Vacqueyras switched to monoculture of the vine after the frosts of 1929 and 1956 which
destroyed the hundred-year-old olive trees
The designation of origin Gigondas was obtained in 1971 and covers 1200 ha. Vacqueyras obtained this same label in 1990 and covers 1700 ha. Since 1998, it has been the official vintage of Avignon Festival. The two Appellations benefit from a diversity of soils and terroirs which give their wines a great wealth.
The Dentelles de Montmirail stand out against the backdrop of the two towns and offer many hikes for nature lovers. Further east, at an altitude of 1909 meters, stands Mont Ventoux with its 22 km ascent for bike enthusiasts.
